If you have not completed 48 points of study, you are generally not entitled to a parking permit.
If you are a graduate of another university you may apply for a permit, but you will also need to provide evidence of your previous degree.

A parking permit does not guarantee you a parking bay.

For non-permit holders, or if the permit-parking areas are full, there are long and short-term pay and display parking areas:

You cannot have both a carpooling and yellow student parking permit.
First-year students may join a carpooling group if there are three or more members in the group that are eligible for a yellow student parking permit.
The minimum number of students in a carpooling group is three and the maximum is five.
Only those people in the group with a vehicle will be issued with a carpooling permit.
The entire group needs to apply for a permit, in person, at the UniPark Office. Please take the following to UniPark:
You may nominate someone to apply on your behalf. You must supply the nominated person with a signed letter authorising them to apply on your behalf. They will also need your 2009 Student ID card and information about the vehicle make, model and registration number.

No other method of affixing the permit is accepted.
The student carpooling area is located at the southern end of carpark 14 (Engineering). The University may, at all times, use its discretion in relation to the location of carpooling areas.
If more than one vehicle from a carpooling group is found in the carpooling area at the same time, each vehicle will be issued with an infringement.
If all carpooling bays are occupied, you may park in short or long-term pay and display parking areas after purchasing and displaying a ticket.
If you have to return your permit and you have paid for a full-year student parking or carpooling permit, you can apply for a refund before 19 June 2009.
